Vintage gilded metal flower pendant 1950s retro deadstock jewelry
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description This vintage pendant, shown here, features a thick, double-ring circular shape, topped with two rounded fasteners at the top. The surface has a slightly patinated golden metallic appearance, typical of costume jewelry productions from the 1950s. A stylized floral motif with six petals, in relief, adorns the lower part of the circle, adding a retro and feminine decorative touch to the whole.
The pendant has a matte gold finish with slight visible traces of oxidation, highlighting its antique and authentic character. The thick structure and the symmetrical distribution of the suspension rings suggest robust manufacturing, designed to be easily mounted on a chain or a multi-strand necklace. The overall appearance evokes the post-war retro style, with a floral inspiration very much in vogue in 1950s costume jewelry.
The flower motif, in relief and well-centered, is finely molded, with rounded contours and a smooth texture. No markings or inscriptions are visible on the presented side. The gilding has a slight aged effect, uniform over the entire visible surface, without significant shine or missing parts.
The two round fasteners at the top of the pendant are perfectly integrated into the design, allowing for different mounting options (necklace, long necklace, or DIY creation). This type of pendant was often used in what is known as "deadstock" jewelry: old pieces from unsold stock, never worn or mounted.
The piece is photographed on a natural wood background, highlighting the golden hue and the relief of the floral motif. No other elements or accessories accompany the pendant in the photo.
Condition Second-hand deadstock item, never worn, sold as is. Some traces of oxidation or wear related to age and conservation, visible on the gilded surface, with no apparent structural defect on the visible side.
Did you know? In the 1950s, costume jewelry became democratized in France and Europe thanks to the use of gilded base metals and molded floral motifs. Deadstock pendants refer to old elements from dormant stocks of manufacturers or workshops, which remained unsold and preserved in their original state.
