Description

This antique pendant, presented here, illustrates typical jewelry work from the 1950s fantasy design. Its triangular shape evokes a stylized tent or an abstract structure, topped with a massive circular bail, allowing a chain or cord to be threaded through it. The pendant has a patinated metallic finish, with an irregular and slightly grainy surface, giving it a strong handcrafted character.

The visible side is decorated with incised geometric patterns, including three symmetrical triangles arranged in the center of the main triangle, surrounded by wavy lines and embossed patterns. The number "90" is engraved in the lower part, probably a manufacturing reference or a series detail. The contours are intentionally irregular, reinforcing the vintage look and uniqueness of this piece of jewelry.

The upper part includes a robust loop, well integrated into the whole, which contrasts in its simplicity compared to the richness of the main body's patterns. The whole has a uniform patina, suggesting an unworn deadstock piece, but whose surface retains the authenticity of its creation era.

The overall style is reminiscent of costume jewelry produced in the immediate post-war period, where experimentation with abstract forms and the use of non-precious metals were common. The raw appearance and geometry of the pendant give it a highly sought-after retro look for lovers of antique and vintage jewelry.

The color of the pendant is a matte metal gray, with darker shades in the hollows of the engravings, accentuating the contrast and legibility of the patterns. No manufacturer's mark is visible on the presented side.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Shows a beautiful homogeneous patina, without visible chips or deformations on the shown side. The deadstock aspect means it has probably never been worn, but may show slight storage marks typical of antique jewelry.

Did you know? 1950s metal costume pendants were often made in small series or by hand, using geometric patterns inspired by both modern art and popular traditions. Their production aimed to make jewelry accessible while maintaining a strong aesthetic signature, which makes them iconic vintage pieces today.
