Description

This corporate pin features a square shape with gold edges and a graphic composition characteristic of Art Deco aesthetics. On the visible side, a deep red background contrasts with a central beige circle, itself edged in gold. A raised gold band crosses the circle diagonally and bears the inscription "CIBA-GEIGY" in very legible and finely carved capital letters. The overall design elegantly and structurally highlights the brand, typical of the visual communication of pharmaceutical and chemical companies in the mid-20th century.

The surface has a glossy finish, evoking lacquer or enamel, with luminous reflections on the red area and on the gilding. The pin's outline, also gold, emphasizes the object's strict geometry. No attachment or fastening system is visible in the photo; only the front is shown.

The chosen colors, red and beige, combined with gold, reinforce the institutional and retro aspect of the pin. The central motif and typography suggest a production likely dating from the 1970s to 1980s, a period when Ciba-Geigy was a leading industrial entity before the merger that would create Novartis. The Art Deco inspiration is perceptible in the symmetrical structure and the use of raised gold.

The pin is presented on a light floral textile background, which highlights its shine and apparent state of preservation. No chips, scratches, or major defects are visible on the photographed part, which attests to a good visual condition for a vintage piece.

Condition
