Description

Old square pin, featuring a typical 1990s design. The visible side has a gold metallic finish, with embossed lettering and brightly colored enameled areas. In the center, two stylized flags, one green and one red, overlap, evoking cooperation between France and the USSR. The inscription "EXPO FRANCE" is legible vertically on the left side, while "URSS" is at the top. The upper right corner bears the date "91" and a series of characters, probably for the year 1991. A vertical band on the right adds an additional texture effect.

At the bottom, a red band includes an inscription in Cyrillic: "ВЫСТАВКА" (VYSTAVKA - Exhibition), confirming the Soviet origin of the pin and its connection to a bilateral exhibition. The dominant colors are gold, bright red, and enameled green, contrasting with the metallic background. The whole is surrounded by a gold border, characteristic of pins made at that time.

The surface shows some visible signs of wear on the gilding, indicating prolonged use or storage, typical of vintage items. No other patterns or decorations appear, the whole remaining sober and geometric, true to the aesthetic of institutional events at the end of the USSR.

This pin stands out for its square format, rarely used in the production of commemorative pins, and for the simultaneous presence of text in French and Russian. The graphic style, color palette, and typography are characteristic of objects produced at the turn of the 80s-90s for official or historical events.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Visible traces of wear on the gilded surface and some marks on the enamel. See photo for precise details.

Did you know? The mention "Expo France URSS 1991" refers to a series of events and exhibitions organized shortly before the dissolution of the Soviet Union, aiming to promote cultural and economic exchanges between France and the USSR. Pins were then widely used communication tools during official international meetings.
