Vintage advertising pin, featuring the character Idéfix from the Astérix universe, associated with the TOTAL brand. This pin has a cutout shape following the stylized contours of Idéfix's head and bust, topped with large rounded ears. The lower part of the pin is rectilinear and bears the inscription "TOTAL" in clear red capital letters on a black background. The main motif, in the upper part, shows Idéfix in a light yellow shade with black details for the outlines, eyes and snout. The whole has a shiny finish with glossy reflections on the visible surface.

The object presents an aesthetic typical of promotional items from the 1980s-1990s, through the drawing style and the color palette used. The visual aspect evokes an enameled or lacquered pin, with clear contours and a domed surface. No other text or logo is visible on the front.

The pin is photographed from a frontal view, allowing precise observation of the motif, typography, and general condition of the surface. There are slight signs of wear, particularly micro-scratches and some marks on the black part, indicating prolonged use or storage. The red paint of the inscription remains intense and well-contrasted. No major chips are visible on the exposed part.

This type of pin was frequently distributed during marketing operations or partnerships between brands and popular licenses, here between the oil company Total and the famous Astérix comic strip. The compact format and Idéfix's immediately recognizable silhouette make it an emblematic object of vintage French advertising.

Condition
Used item, sold as is. Shows visible signs of wear and tear on the surface: some superficial scratches and marks, with no significant chipping on the front. See photo for exact appearance.

Did you know? Idéfix is Obelix's faithful dog, first appearing in 1963 in the album "Astérix and the Banquet". His name is a pun on "idée fixe" (fixed idea). The partnership between Total and Astérix led to several promotional items in the 1980s and 1990s, including a series of pins distributed in service stations.
