Description

Old embroidery pattern visible in the photo, most likely dating from the 1950s, judging by the graphic style and the yellowed paper. This document features several motifs printed in black on a large folded sheet, intended for textile reproduction or interior decoration. Various designs can be distinguished: two stylized fish in the upper right corner, a central scene depicting a female figure in a circle, five-petal flowers, fruits, scrolls, as well as a swan and a floral motif intended for a cushion or doily.

The outlines are clear and the lines precise, typical of old plates used in traditional embroidery or decorative sewing. The motifs are designed to be transferred to fabric, then hand-embroidered using different techniques (stem stitch, satin stitch, etc.), very popular at the time. The sheet contains technical inscriptions, including "towel embroidery," "cushion motif" and other functional indications, clearly visible in the image.

The paper, with a yellowed appearance, shows a matte texture, with several horizontal and vertical fold marks, indicating prolonged storage. Some brown stains and signs of wear are visible, particularly on the edges and in the folded areas, confirming the document's age. The upper corners are slightly dog-eared and wear is noticeable on the right edge.

The sheet is presented flat on a wooden surface, in front of an old bookcase, accentuating the vintage character of the object. The varied motifs, typical of the decorative repertoire of the 1950s, are suitable for both hand embroidery and graphic reproduction for retro sewing projects, textile upcycling, or wall decoration.

The visible inscriptions are in French, suggesting a French or Francophone origin. The floral, animal, and geometric motifs are representative of mid-20th century decorative trends, with an immediately recognizable retro style.
