Description

This antique plaque, visible in the photo, is a canine award, presented at a competition organized by the Société Canine Régionale du Centre (S.C.R.C.). It has a rectangular shape with wavy edges and two visible perforations at the top left and right, for attachment. The surface features a light blue and dark blue finish, with an embossed motif representing a recognizable building, Bourges Cathedral, as well as molded and painted inscriptions.

The top of the plaque bears the inscription "S.C.R.C.", underlined by an embossed line. In the center, the architectural decor takes a prominent place, surmounting the inscription "Bourges" in a stylized gothic typography, typical of antique distinctions. The lower part of the plaque displays in capital letters: "TRES PROMETTEUR" (VERY PROMISING), a title awarded at dog shows to distinguish young dogs judged as promising.

The plaque shows some signs of wear: visible chips on the edges, particularly on the upper and lower corners, and slight rub marks on the surface, testifying to its age and use. The texture of the finish appears slightly grainy, typical of enameled or painted metal plaques from the 1950s to 1970s, without being able to confirm the exact decade. On the right side, the inscription "Trophée" (Trophy) is also visible in relief.

This type of plaque was traditionally awarded at regional dog shows in France, often affixed to a wall, door, or stand, to highlight an animal's or a breeding's achievements.
