Description

This item is a vintage-looking military commemorative plaque from the French Air Force. The object consists of a rectangular wooden-like base, the visible surface of which features an embossed insignia inserted on the left, and a golden engraved plaque on the right.

The insignia is composed of a silver gear in the background, superimposed with colored motifs: a stylized red grid in the upper part, a green triangle with white lightning bolts in the lower part, and a black circle on the left. This type of composition evokes the emblems of technical or aeronautical maintenance units.

To the right of the insignia, a metallic plaque with a golden finish is affixed to the surface. It bears the following engraved inscription: GERMaS 15.943, typical of unit or specialized group markings of the Air Force (Groupe d’Entretien, Réparation Matériel Spécialisé - Specialized Material Maintenance and Repair Group).

The base has a natural wood appearance, with visible grain and a smooth surface. No other decorative elements or inscriptions appear on the visible face. The whole exudes a sober aesthetic, typical of honorary objects or military souvenirs awarded after a service or mission.

The item presents a combination of metallic and colored finishes on the insignia (enameled or painted appearance for the red and green areas), and a golden plaque with black engraving.
