Description

Old enameled metal plaque from the Société Canine du Bourbonnais, visible in the photo in a classic shield shape. The front features a two-tone blue and white design, separated diagonally, with three raised fleur-de-lis motifs and the inscription in molded letters: "SOCIÉTÉ CANINE DU BOURBONNAIS" on the blue part, "EXCELLENT" on the white part. This type of plaque was usually awarded at dog shows or competitions to signify a distinction given to a dog.

The plaque has a slightly shiny finish, typical of old enameled or painted objects. The colors are still clearly visible despite numerous chips and signs of wear on the edges and surface, testifying to its authenticity and past use. The relief of the letters and motifs is well defined, providing a decorative dimension and excellent legibility of the inscriptions.

The plaque's cut is clean, with a black outline highlighting the shield shape. A small mounting hole is visible at the top, allowing for wall hanging. No other mounting system is apparent on the front. Note the presence of an period patina, accentuating its retro and vintage appearance.

The overall style is typical of the mid-20th century, both in the typography used and in the choice of colors and the design of the heraldic motifs. This type of decorative plaque was common in French regional canine societies of the 20th century, serving both as an honorary distinction and a historical souvenir.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Presence of paint chips, scratches, and signs of wear visible around the entire perimeter and surface, consistent with old use. Beautiful vintage appearance with authentic patina.
