Description

This antique advertising sign features the "Marius Ferrat" garden center with an evocative visual of the garden and outdoor relaxation. The object has a rounded top and a trapezoidal base, typical of counter advertising displays from the mid-20th century. The visible face displays a colorful illustration depicting a garden scene: a round table, two lounge chairs, and a large red and green striped parasol, evoking the friendly atmosphere of terraces or private gardens.

The color palette is dominated by green, red, and brown, reinforcing the connection with the plant world and the retro universe of old advertisements. At the top, the inscription "jardinerie" (garden center) appears in curved green letters, while the bottom of the sign displays the name "Marius Ferrat" in a stylized typography, as well as the phrase "Fleurit la vie" (It flowers life) in bright, clearly legible red. These graphic elements suggest an advertising piece designed to be placed in a window or on a counter, probably from the 1950s to 1970s, a period when this type of signage was common.

The surface has a lacquered or enameled appearance, typical of antique advertising signs, with some signs of wear and small scratches visible on the front, testifying to its age and authenticity. The central illustration is well preserved, with colors that have remained quite vivid despite time. No other decorative details are visible on the front, which refocuses attention on the advertising message and the relaxing atmosphere associated with the brand.

The edges of the sign show a slight relief, accentuating the object's structure. The rectangular base ensures good stability, making it ideal for display on furniture, a shelf, or in a vintage decoration themed space. The whole evokes both the conviviality of family gardens and the retro aesthetic of local businesses of yesteryear.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Traces of wear, scratches, and visible marks on the surface, consistent with old use and age. The whole remains stable, legible, and decorative.
