Description

Old advertising keychain representing a miniature oil can, produced for the Mobil brand and its MobilGel product. The object consists of a metal ring with a tilting clasp, patinated and oxidized, connected to a short chain holding a small cylindrical can-shaped pendant. The can features a label with typical mid-20th century graphics, with the inscriptions "Mobil" in blue on a white background, the red Pegasus logo, and the mention "MobilGel" in blue, accompanied by red and blue touches around the edge. The surface of the can shows visible wear, with signs of age, scratches, rubbing marks, and discolored areas, giving the whole an authentically vintage look.

The visible side of the keychain shows most of the label, whose colors and design evoke the 60s-70s, a period during which this type of advertising support was widely used by oil companies to build customer loyalty. The ring shows a brown patina and traces of oxidation, typical of prolonged use and an object left exposed to the air. The chain and attachment seem original, with a consistent coloration and an old appearance coherent with the whole.

The miniature can is made with a matte and slightly textured finish, evoking the appearance of metal or an alloy, without it being possible to precisely identify the material from the image alone. The inscriptions are partially erased by wear, but "MobilGel" and "Mobil" remain clearly legible on the front. We also note the presence of the Mobil logo above the text, as well as red and blue triangular motifs, characteristic graphic elements of Mobil's visual identity during the second half of the 20th century.

This advertising keychain stands out for its faithful shape to a real oil can, making it a representative object of promotional goodies distributed in gas stations or during automotive events. The whole exudes a retro aesthetic, accentuated by the patina and the general condition of the object, which testify to its age and authenticity.

Condition

Used item sold as is. Shows a patina of use, traces of oxidation on the metal part, label marked by time (peeled in places, faded colors, visible scratches and stains). The ring mechanism and chain are functional but show signs of wear. The overall condition is consistent with an old advertising keychain.
