Description

Old advertising keychain from the Gervais brand, typical of promotional items from the mid-20th century. This keychain has a square shape with a volumetric effect, the main part being a transparent block revealing a miniature label reproducing a "Gervais" cheese package. The visible label notably indicates "CARRÉ FRAIS 60%", "DOUBLE CRÈME", "CH. GERVAIS", "PASTEURISÉ" and "BRICQUE EN NORMANDIE".

The transparent block, with a slightly yellowed appearance from age, highlights the colorful visual of the label, in shades of blue, green, yellow and white. The metal attachment, a spring ring type, is secured by a small chain and an intermediate ring, typical of keychains produced in the 1950s to 1970s. The overall structure is solid, with clear edges and a transparency reminiscent of resin or molded plastic objects from that period.

The visible side shows good readability of the advertising visual, with a depth effect thanks to the encapsulation of the label. No other pattern is visible on the exposed part of the object. The keychain is photographed on a white background, highlighting its lines and the shine of the metal ring.

This type of object, both a promotional gadget and a brand souvenir, was commonly distributed by French food companies to build customer loyalty and promote their flagship products. Its retro look and typical graphics of the era make it a representative example of vintage advertising design.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The metal ring shows visible traces of oxidation and the transparent block has a homogeneous patina with signs of wear from time, with no major apparent chips on the visible side. The internal label remains clearly legible.
