Vintage advertising keyring CH. Rieger Strasbourg translucent old
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
Old advertising keychain, rectangular with rounded corners, with a translucent body revealing a cardboard label inside. On the visible side, a red printed inscription reads "CH. RIEGER STRASBOURG" and, at the top, a partially legible mention that seems to evoke "The best Alsatian pasta." The keychain has a matte and slightly patinated finish, typical of promotional items from the mid-20th century. The dark metal ring is connected to a simple chain, clearly visible in the photo.
The central part incorporates a transparent window, perhaps made of old plastic or resin, which shows the advertising inscription on a brown background. The rounded edges and the domed appearance of the keychain are reminiscent of 1950s-1960s French productions, common in regional corporate communications.
The graphics and typography of the inscription, with its handwritten style and slightly faded red ink, reinforce the retro character of the object. No additional decor, logo, or illustration is visible on this side. The overall aesthetic is sober, true to the utilitarian advertising objects of that era.
The keychain is presented hanging on old wooden furniture, in a warm atmosphere, which highlights the transparency of the material and the authentic appearance of the object. The slight wear observable on the outer surface and the patina of the ring testify to its age and use.
Condition
Used item, sold as is. Visible signs of wear on the transparent surface and on the metal ring. The internal inscription remains generally legible despite some signs of time.
Did you know? Translucent advertising keychains with paper inserts were widely used in the 1950s-1970s by French food and craft businesses. They allowed for quick and economical personalization and are now sought after for their testimony to the regional graphic design of the time.
