Vintage Toblerone metal advertising keyring old Swiss chocolate
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This vintage advertising keychain features the iconic Toblerone brand, famous Swiss chocolate. The item consists of a robust-looking rectangular plate with rounded corners, attached to a classic metal ring by a visible link chain. The main side features an old printed label "Toblerone chocolat au lait aux amandes et miel" (Toblerone milk chocolate with almonds and honey), in a graphic style typical of mid-20th century food marketing, with colors patinated by time: beige background, red and yellow inscriptions, landscape decor in the background.
The visible surface of the plate shows a metallic, slightly matte appearance, highlighting the retro character of the whole. The central label, intentionally aged, reinforces the authenticity of this advertising piece. The brand's typography "TOBLERONE" in capital letters is clearly distinguishable, as well as the product mention and a discreet illustration, probably a mountain, associated with the traditional imagery of the Swiss brand.
The attachment ring is a standard, side-opening type, allowing this keychain to be easily attached to a key ring or bag. The chain has several visible links, in a metal finish matching the main plate.
The overall patina of the object, with its slight reflections and traces of use, attests to its age. The advertising print shows some signs of wear and discoloration, typical of objects from this era, which contribute to its vintage charm. No decor or inscription is visible on the side parts or on the back (not photographed).
This Toblerone advertising keychain is a representative example of metal promotional items distributed in the 60s-70s by major European food brands. Its retro style, period graphics and the brand's notoriety make it a decorative accessory appreciated for its authenticity and heritage dimension.

Did you know? Toblerone was invented in 1908 in Bern, Switzerland, by Theodor Tobler and Emil Baumann. The chocolate's triangular shape is inspired by the Matterhorn, an emblematic peak in the Swiss Alps, and the brand's first logo already incorporated this mountain motif. Old Toblerone advertising items are sought after for their retro design and their link to the history of European food marketing.
