Description
This antique advertising keychain, signed J. Herbin Paris, stands out for its singular shape and design evoking the utilitarian style of mid-20th century advertising objects. The object features a patinated beige hue, with a slightly mottled appearance, typical of old plastics. On the visible side, the keychain features a circular embossed medallion, adorned with a detailed representation of a sailing ship, surrounded by the inscription "J. HERBIN PARIS". This iconography directly refers to the famous French brand, known for its inks and writing accessories.
The lower part displays the molded letters ""MEMOTO" Déposé", indicating the object's initial function as a memo holder or paper clip, here adapted into a keychain. Two visible metal rods on each side reinforce the utilitarian aspect of the model. The keychain is equipped with a classic metal ring and a short chain, clearly visible in the photograph, allowing for a secure attachment to a key ring or bag.
The surface shows traces of use and a uniform patina, accentuating the vintage character of the object. No major chips are visible on the front; small marks or surface irregularities attest to its age and actual use. The relief of the logo and inscriptions remains clear and legible, confirming the authenticity of the piece.
This advertising keychain is a typical example of promotional items produced in France in the second half of the 20th century, combining functionality and brand enhancement. Its design evokes both the memory of the traditional office and the history of writing accessories.
