Vintage Toasted Bread Biscuit Old Promotional Retro Rare Keychain
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description Old advertising keychain, in the shape of a teardrop, with a transparent and domed appearance. This is a promotional item for Pan Grillé biscuits, identifiable by the image visible under the resin: two golden round biscuits are visible and, next to them, a stylized representation of Pan Grillé packaging with predominant blue, white, red, and yellow colors. The inscription "Pan Grillé" is legible in black characters on a light background. The visual is protected under a transparent surface that shows a slight patina and some traces of use, typical of advertising objects from past decades.
The keychain is equipped with a silver metal ring, connected to the main part by a link chain. The metal finish shows slight oxidation, indicating the object's age. The visible side of the keychain shows a printed, flat advertising motif, protected by the translucent outer layer. No details are visible on the back or other sides.
The general shape of the keychain is asymmetrical, resembling a drop or a tear, with rounded and smooth edges. The visual aspect of the transparent surface shows slight yellowing due to time, reinforcing the object's vintage character. The internal image remains well contrasted despite the apparent age of the piece.
This type of advertising keychain was very common in the 1970s and 1980s, often distributed by food brands to promote their products. The iconography of the Pan Grillé biscuit evokes the world of popular snacks and breakfasts of the time in France.
The presence of the "Pan Grillé" brand and food imagery make it a representative object of retro advertising trends. It is a typical medium for visual communication in supermarkets and everyday consumer products of the 20th century.
Condition Used item, sold as is. The metal ring shows traces of oxidation, the transparent surface shows a patina, micro-scratches, and slight yellowing. The internal image remains legible and clearly visible. No restoration or modification observed on the visible side.
Did you know? Transparent resin advertising keychains, produced in large numbers from the 1960s by French manufacturers such as the SEVEM company, helped to permanently embed food brands in the collective imagination. They were often offered during purchases or promotional campaigns, and their iconography accurately reflects the popular consumption trends of the time.
