Description

Here is a vintage Eskimo doll, recognizable by its smiling vinyl face and typical outfit, consisting of a hooded parka trimmed with real fur, in accordance with the keywords. The doll has tousled black hair, implanted on the top of its head. The face has a rosy complexion, round and expressive cheeks, as well as painted features with large black eyes and thin eyebrows, characteristic of doll productions from the 1960s-1970s.

The loosely fitting parka is visually made of light-colored fur, with darker finishes at the cuffs, the bottom of the garment, and around the waist, where a brown band marks the separation. The sleeves and the bottom of the coat are adorned with contrasting trim, accentuating the traditional appearance of the outfit. The pants, blue in appearance, evoke a thick fabric or faux denim, also decorated with fur bands at the ankles.

The doll is depicted standing, with its arms slightly spread, which allows observation of the loose cut of the garment and the proportion of the body. The hands and face are molded in colored vinyl, with careful details on the fingers and facial expression. No markings or inscriptions are visible on the displayed side.

The visible finishes, such as the apparent seams and material combinations, testify to careful manufacturing typical of plush toys and ethnographically inspired dolls from the second half of the 20th century. The doll has an endearing appearance and is faithful to the popular imagery of the Arctic.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Visible signs of wear on the fur and hair, some marks or irregularities on the face, consistent with age and use. The whole remains stable and decorative.

Did you know? Dolls representing Inuit or "Eskimo" children were popular in the 60s-70s, often manufactured in Europe or the USSR, and intended to introduce children to Arctic cultures. Real fur clothing was a selling point to evoke the authenticity of traditional garments.
