Description

Figurative doll representing the iconic character Peko-Chan, mascot of the Japanese confectionery Fujiya. This doll features a disproportionate head, typical of kawaii design, with large black eyes, a red-smudged smiling mouth, and round cheeks. Her brown hair is styled in two pigtails, each adorned with a large, shiny red bow, clearly visible on the shown side.

The doll wears a pale pink long-sleeved fabric dress, hemmed with bright pink scalloped trim, and white knee-high socks with molded black shoes. The appearance of the dress and legs combines a textile and vinyl effect, typical of mid-century and vintage Japanese productions. Her arms are in a welcoming position, holding a stylized cake decorated with red strawberries, made of a soft material with a velvety appearance.

The highly expressive face has a red mark on the left cheek, evoking the character's gluttony. The painted details on the face (eyes, mouth, cheeks) remain clear, although some red traces are visible around the mouth and on the cheek, signs of previous use. No logo is visible on the presented side, but the style is immediately recognizable as Peko-Chan's.

The slightly forward-leaning posture, arms folded over the cake, and jovial expression reinforce the doll's mischievous and endearing character. The contrast between the softness of the dress's textile and the sheen of the face and shoes' vinyl highlights the care taken in its manufacturing. The overall aesthetic evokes vintage Japanese toys from the 1970s to 1980s, without being able to specify an exact date due to the absence of visible inscriptions.

The plain pink background highlights the doll's pastel colors and accentuates the overall retro look. No removable accessories are visible on this side. The object is presented standing, on a dark wooden surface.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Visible red traces on the mouth and cheek, slight wear on the face's paint. The other elements (dress, shoes, cake) appear in good visual condition on the presented side.
