Description

This First Day Cover (FDC) features the city of Périgueux with a colorful visual representing an aerial view of the city, accompanied by the inscription "ATELIER DU TIMBRE POSTE" (Postage Stamp Workshop). The envelope includes an illustrated stamp integrated into the design, as well as an official postmark "IMPRIMERIE DES TIMBRES-POSTE PREMIÈRE ÉMISSION 24. PÉRIGUEUX 13 JUIN 1970" (Postage Stamp Printing Press First Issue 24. PÉRIGUEUX 13 JUNE 1970). The stamp and postmark are perfectly legible on the visible side, with a clear mention "PREMIER JOUR D’ÉMISSION" (First Day of Issue).

The graphic design is distinguished by vibrant colors (green, blue, red, beige) and a wavy golden border that frames the main scene. In the lower right, a small label indicates "1.0 F", probably the historical price or an internal reference. The envelope is protected in a transparent plastic sleeve, which has preserved its visual appearance intact.

The back is not visible, but the presented side shows no signs of wear, creases, or significant alterations. The item evokes an official philatelic production, typical of French commemorative issues from the late 1960s and early 1970s.

The mentions "PREMIER JOUR D’ÉMISSION" (First Day of Issue) and "FIRST DAY COVER" are printed on the lower left, reinforcing the philatelic nature of this product. The illustration, stamp, and postmarks are all harmoniously integrated on the front side. No major defects are visible on the photographed surface.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The visible side presents a very good general appearance, with no apparent defects. Protective plastic sleeve included.

Did you know? The "Premier Jour" (FDC) postmark traditionally accompanies the official release of a new stamp. In France, these special issues have been highly sought after by philatelists since the 1950s, with each postmark being unique to the date and place of issue.
