This document, visible in the photo, is an old religious leaflet published for the "Retreats of Our Lady of the Cenacle" dated 1949. It is a rectangular brochure printed on paper, with a cover featuring an ornamental frame in a sober and classic style, typical of mid-20th century religious publishing.

The front features a monochrome illustration depicting a female figure in prayer, identifiable as the Virgin Mary, haloed and drawn in profile, with hands clasped. This image is centered at the top of the page and framed by a dotted line ending with square motifs at the corners, reinforcing the document's traditional appearance.

The main inscription, in handwritten and classic typography, clearly states: "Retreats of Our Lady of the Cenacle – Year 1949". Below it is a quote attributed to Pius XII: "He who wishes to conquer souls must first sanctify himself in retreat."

The paper has an off-white hue, slightly patinated by time, which is consistent with a period document. No bright colors or additional decorative motifs are visible on this side. The whole evokes a typical production of French religious publications from the beginning of the second half of the 20th century, intended to inform or invite people to spiritual retreats in a Catholic setting.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The image shows an overall good condition: the visible cover does not have any major tears or pronounced stains, but slight wear and yellowing of the paper are visible, natural signs of time for a 1949 print. The corners are blunted, without being excessively folded. The inscriptions and illustration remain perfectly legible.
