Description

This antique straight razor, also known as a "cut-throat razor," features an aesthetic typical of barbering instruments from the early to mid-20th century. The straight blade is made of exposed steel, with a dark patina and visible oxidation marks along its entire length. The spine of the blade is thick, with a rounded end and an accentuated hook, consistent with traditional European models.

The ivory-colored handle is made of synthetic material (likely celluloid or bakelite, in the absence of other indications in the keywords), with a smooth and shiny finish. There are two metal rivets at each end for assembly, one of which shows slight oxidation. A small green stain is visible on the lower part of the handle, testifying to old use and prolonged storage.

An inscription is partially legible on the blade: "G. ... Solingen." The mention "Solingen" indicates probable manufacture in this German city, renowned for its quality cutlery. The rest of the inscription is difficult to decipher from the provided photo.

The item is photographed resting on a solid wood piece of furniture, in front of an old bookcase, which highlights the authentic and traditional character of the object. No case or additional accessories are visible in this image.

This vintage cut-throat razor, with its visible blade and synthetic ivory handle, is aimed at those who appreciate antique barbering tools, traditional shaving, or wish to display a decorative period piece in a bathroom or cabinet of curiosities.
