Description

Antique SMI brand table alarm clock, presented here in a configuration to be restored. The model has a classic round shape, resting on two visible spherical metal feet at the front. The dial displays large, stylized, easily legible Arabic numerals in a gray hue contrasting against a white background. There is a small secondary dial at the top, dedicated to the alarm function, as well as a stylized red rooster positioned at the bottom center of the dial, a typical graphic signature of some SMI models.

The bezel has a visibly patinated, reddish-brown finish, with signs of wear and oxidation, characteristic of an object several decades old. The domed dial glass shows some marks and scratches from use. The main hands, gilded, also show signs of oxidation, as do the second hand and the alarm hand.

Around the dial, pale green triangular markers and dots add an additional decorative touch. The inscription "MADE IN FRANCE" is visible below the number 6, attesting to French manufacturing. The brand "SMI" appears at the top of the dial, above the secondary dial, in a circular cartouche.

This vintage mechanical alarm clock evokes a typical 1950s-1960s design, with its robust appearance, round feet, and clean graphic style. The whole presents a beautiful visual unity despite the marks of time, which reinforce its authenticity and retro charm.

The ring placed next to the object in the photo is not included in the sale; it serves only as a visual comparison element.

Condition

Used item sold as is, for restoration. Numerous visible signs of wear, oxidation, scratches, and dirt on the dial, glass, and bezel. Mechanism untested, sold for parts or restoration.
