Description

Spelter sculpture with a brown patina and bronze nuances, depicting a young woman standing, draped, with her arm raised holding a blooming floral motif. The composition rests on a terrace with a relief plant decoration, featuring leaves, flowers, and naturalistic movement.

The subject is signed Ch. Ruchot on the base and features a metal cartouche affixed to the base, inscribed FLORAISON par Ruchot (Sculpt.). The circular wooden base has a reddish-brown finish, in the style of decorative presentations from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Charles Ruchot was a French sculptor active around 1890-1925, known for decorative subjects in bronze and spelter, particularly statuettes, lamps, and ornamental pieces. Condition

Second-hand item, sold as is. Old patina with wear, rubbing, traces of oxidation, and deposits related to age, particularly visible on the terrace and reliefs. The wooden base shows marks, small chips, and traces of use. A crack and wear are visible on the raised arm and shoulder, as well as some localized missing parts or alterations on the relief elements. The whole retains a good decorative readability and an authentic presence.
