Description

This vintage children's apron features meticulous craftsmanship, typical of the 1970s. The piece is made from a light, cotton-like fabric, with a scalloped finish highlighted by a blue trim visible all around the hem. On the front, the apron is adorned with colorful embroidery depicting two ducks moving among stylized flowers and tufts of grass, in a naive and rustic setting very representative of the retro aesthetic of the late 20th century.

The name "ANAÏS" is embroidered in red letters, surrounded by small multicolored flowers, adding a personalized and authentic touch. All the embroidery is handmade, with clearly visible stitches and brightly colored threads: yellow, green, purple, brown, black, orange, and blue. The main motif features one duck with contrasting plumage and another in a brown shade, both moving on a stylized aquatic background.

The apron's cut is simple, with a slightly flared shape and wavy edges. The fabric shows several creases and wrinkles, typical of an old piece preserved in its original condition. There are also some small stains and irregularities on the surface, consistent with prolonged use and storage.

This model evokes 1970s children's fashion, through the choice of animal motifs and bold colors. The overall piece exudes retro charm, enhanced by the artisanal nature of the embroidery and the personalized name.

Condition

Used item sold as is: wrinkled fabric, presence of small stains and visible signs of wear on the front. The embroideries remain clear and the colors are still vibrant. No apparent tears in the visible area of the photo.

Did you know? Embroidered aprons for children were frequently handmade in French homes in the 1960s-1970s, often for back-to-school or as a personalized gift. Naive animal motifs were particularly popular in textile design during this period.
