Description

This 50-unit phone card features a predominantly blue front, illustrated with a cloudy sky and a red balloon, with a visible gold chip on the left. The main inscription, in white, asks the question: "Et si Vous Téléphoniez avec un portatif 2 watts?" (What if you could call with a 2-watt portable device?) In the lower right section, the SFR logo is clearly printed in red and white, accompanied by the slogan "Le Monde Sans Fil est à Vous." (The Wireless World is Yours.) The "Télécarte 50" box in the upper left specifies the card's capacity, typical of models circulated in France in the 1990s.

The card's surface slightly reflects light, typical of the plasticized finishes of that era. The design is clean, characteristic of early mobile phone advertising materials for the SFR network. No major defects appear on the visible side: the chip is intact, the corners are rounded, and the text is perfectly legible.

The advertising visual evokes the rise of the mobile phone at the end of the 20th century, with a technical nod ("portatif 2 watts") reminiscent of the first GSM mobile terminals. The entire print, with the explicit mention of the SFR brand, gives this phone card an emblematic dimension for lovers of vintage objects and souvenirs from the beginnings of mobile telephony in France.

The reverse side and any additional information are not visible in the photo.

The card is placed on a golden, satin-like fabric, which highlights its colors and enhances the contrast with the blue background. No accessories, packaging, or additional support are visible in the image.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The visible side is in good overall condition, with no apparent major wear, scratches, or noticeable marks on the surface or the chip.

Did you know? Chip phone cards, introduced in France as early as the 1980s, reached their peak in the 90s. Advertising cards, like this SFR model, served as both a payment method for phone booths and a promotional tool for major telecommunications brands.
