Description

A chip telephone card, known as a "telecarte," of French origin, featuring an iconic retro design from the 1990s. The visible side displays a colorful illustration on a bright pink background: a stylized beagle or mixed-breed dog holding a large white envelope in its mouth. The image evokes the postal world and traditional communication, reinforced by the phrase printed in the upper right corner: "Who's going to get the tickets?"

The upper right area is occupied by an orange band incorporating the golden electronic chip, typical of French telecartes from this period. The mention "Télécarte 50" appears in the bottom right on a red background, indicating a capacity of 50 units, standard for these cards used in public telephone booths.

The graphics combine bold colors and clear lines, typical of late 20th-century advertising and utilitarian style. No brand logo is visible on the presented side, but the chip and the rectangular shape with rounded corners are characteristic of French telecartes issued from the 1980s-1990s.

The surface shows good shine, with no major scratches or visible alterations in the photo. The inscriptions, notably "Télécarte 50" and the humorous text, are clear and perfectly legible. No defects, discoloration, or pronounced signs of wear are visible on the front face.

This type of card, now practically obsolete, is sought after for its decorative aspect, its retro graphics, and its value as a testament to the history of communications in France.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The visible side is in good overall visual condition, with well-preserved colors and legible inscriptions.

Did you know? Chip telecartes were introduced in France as early as 1983 by France Télécom and became a popular communication medium in the 1990s, before being superseded by mobile telephony. Some limited series or those with original visuals are now sought after for their design and documentary value.
