Description

This French phone card, visible in the photo, is a commemorative model issued for the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II (May 1945 - May 1995). The front features a striking graphic design, dominated by a large stylized "8" in blue and white on a red background, recalling the date of May 8, 1945, Victory in Europe Day. Two medallions illustrate the card: one bears the inscription "PAX" surrounded by the motto "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité," and the other displays "8 MAI 1945" with the inscription "100 FRANCS" and "République Française 1995."

The upper left corner mentions "Télécarte 50," indicating a capacity of 50 units, typical of the era. The gold electronic chip is clearly visible at the top, characteristic of French smart phone cards from the 1990s. At the bottom of the card is the inscription "MAI 45 - MAI 95" in black letters on a red background, highlighting its commemorative aspect.

The card features a glossy finish, with vibrant, contrasting colors (red, blue, white) and clear typography. The inscriptions and motifs are crisp and clearly legible. No major defects are visible on the displayed side: no apparent scratches, no chips, the visual condition appears very good on the photographed area.

This type of phone card, also known as a smart phone card, was used in public phone booths in France in the 1990s. It may appeal to collectors of commemorative cards, objects related to contemporary history, or everyday technologies from the late 20th century.

Condition

Used item sold as is. The visible side is in excellent visual condition, with no notable defects. The colors are well preserved, and the electronic chip shows no apparent oxidation. Only the front side is visible in the photo; no information is provided about the back.

Did you know? Smart phone cards were introduced in France starting in 1983 by France Télécom and became a symbol of the 1990s. Commemorative editions, such as the 50th anniversary of May 8, 1945, were often produced in limited series and are now sought after for their historical and graphic value.
