Description

Old screwdriver with a vintage look, typical of old-fashioned workshop tools. The object has an elongated shape, with a visibly patinated wooden handle, of ovoid and slightly conical cross-section, whose end shows significant wear and a discolored area, probably due to many uses. The screwdriver head is equipped with a long, thin flat blade, ending in a distinctive, slightly flared "V" slot, indicating a specific function (unscrewing wide slotted screws or handling old mechanical parts).

The wooden handle shows traces of use, with irregular patina, handling marks and a natural coloring that accentuates towards the end. An area at the base of the handle reveals an old, partially erased red paint layer. The dark colored blade has a matte surface, with visible traces of oxidation, typical of untreated old steel.

No marks or inscriptions are visible on the photographed side, but the style of the handle and the shape of the blade evoke an artisanal or semi-industrial manufacture from the early to mid-20th century. The whole exudes an authentic character, ideal for a retro workshop decoration or a collection of old tools.

The contrast between the light shade of the wood and the dark blade enhances the object on a shelf or workbench. Its elongated silhouette and the specificity of the "V" slot make it a unique tool, difficult to find in contemporary productions.

Used tool, sold as is. Presence of wear and patina on the handle, oxidized blade, marked handle end and partially erased paint. See photo for exact appearance.

Did you know? Wide-slot or "V"-ended screwdrivers were often used in specific trades, such as carpentry or old mechanics, to handle deep-groove screws or parts of agricultural and industrial machines from the early 20th century. Their particular shape allowed for a better grip on non-standardized screws.
