Description

This 33 rpm vinyl record features Mozart's "Petite Musique de Nuit" (A Little Night Music), performed by the Hewitt Orchestra. The sleeve, visible in the photo, is square-shaped, covered with blue textile-textured paper, with a dark border around the edge. The central label, printed in blue and black, explicitly states: "MOZART PETITE MUSIQUE DE NUIT par l'Orchestre Hewitt" (MOZART A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC by the Hewitt Orchestra). It also includes the indication "Microsillon 33 Tours à durée prolongée" (33 rpm long-playing microgroove), as well as the reference EX. 17.001, present twice on the sleeve.

The visual highlights an antique-looking sleeve, whose blue cover shows signs of wear, scuffs, and small white stains, typical of a record that has withstood decades. The upper left edge shows a dark reinforcement, likely added to consolidate the structure. A handwritten signature ("C. Grand" or similar) is also visible on the label, adding a personal detail to this copy.

The sleeve bears the mention "LES DISCOPHILES FRANÇAIS" (The French Discophiles) in a blue band repeated on the edges of the label, indicating the publisher or record series. The graphic style, choice of paper, and typography clearly evoke a mid-20th-century edition, probably from the 1950s or 1960s, which corresponds to the period of the 33 rpm microgroove's rise in France.

No other elements (record, back cover, booklet) are visible in the photo; only the front of the sleeve is shown. The overall condition of the sleeve shows scuffed corners, edge wear, and a marked surface, without, however, obscuring the main inscriptions.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Sleeve shows visible signs of wear, stains, scuffs, and scuffed corners. The record itself is not visible in the photo.

Did you know? The 33 rpm microgroove, invented in 1948 by Columbia Records, revolutionized music listening by allowing for extended playing time per side. In France, publishers like "Les Discophiles Français" specialized in reissuing classical works in this format in the 1950s-60s, making the music of composers such as Mozart accessible to a wide audience of music lovers.
