Vinyl LP Vincent Scotto 50 Years of Songs French Chanson
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This 33 rpm vinyl features the album "50 ans de chansons de Vincent Scotto," an old record produced under the direction of Pierre Hiégel. The sleeve boasts an iconic nocturnal photograph of Paris, highlighting the famous illuminated signs of Parisian cabarets and cafes such as the Moulin Rouge, the Cyrano, and various other establishments in Pigalle. The dominant colors are black, red, and blue, accentuated by multicolored neon lights that give the cover a retro and lively character, typical of Parisian imagery from the mid-20th century.
The top of the sleeve clearly displays the title "50 ans de chansons de Vincent Scotto" in large red and blue letters, accompanied by the mention "2e époque." It also lists the main performers on the album: Georges Guétary, Anny Gould, Mathé Altéry, Andréx, Reda Caire, Simone Real, Lisette Jambel, Colette Renard. Pierre Hiégel's name, as presenter, is clearly visible, as is the mention of the "Grand Orchestre de Paris under the direction of Raymond Legrand."
The visible side of the record shows a sleeve in good overall condition, with generally clean edges and corners. No major defects appear on the photograph, although a slight patina of use can be observed, consistent with an old vinyl. The inscriptions and logos are clear, notably the "Pathé" brand (Paulo Brumartel), the reference number ATX 198, and the label logo on the upper left corner.
The graphic composition of the sleeve, combining vintage typography and urban photography, perfectly illustrates the atmosphere of the 1950s-60s in Paris and pays homage to the musical universe of Vincent Scotto, an emblematic figure of French song.
