Description

This 45 rpm vinyl features the single "Manureva / Beguine" by Alain Chamfort, as clearly indicated on the visible jacket in the photo. The sleeve boasts a black and white photographic design, with a portrait of Alain Chamfort in a white shirt and striped tie, hands in his pockets, against a clean graphic background. The artist's name is framed within a pink band at the top left, while the titles "MANUREVA" and "BEGUINE" are printed in black, in capital letters, to the right of the visual.

The visible side of the sleeve also features the CBS label logo at the bottom right, accompanied by the reference CBS 7497, allowing for quick authentication of this edition. The graphic style and typography are typical of the late 1970s, a period when these titles achieved widespread success.

The surface of the sleeve, although showing some slight signs of wear and handling (slight marks visible on the light area), retains good legibility of the inscriptions and an overall consistent appearance. No major tears are visible on the front; the upper corners appear very slightly dulled, which is common for this type of vintage item.

The strong contrast between the black and white photograph and the pink band of the artist's name gives the whole a strong graphic appeal, emblematic of the musical aesthetic of that era. The matte appearance and slightly grainy texture of the sleeve are visible in the image, without excessive shine.

This 45 rpm record is a representative item of the late 70s French pop scene, both for its design and the notoriety of its titles, with "Manureva" being among Alain Chamfort's greatest hits.

Condition

Did you know? "Manureva", released in 1979, was written by Serge Gainsbourg for Alain Chamfort. The title pays tribute to the navigator Alain Colas and his missing sailboat, and became one of the greatest successes in French song of the period.
