Description

This 45 rpm vinyl record features the original sleeve of the single "El Lute / Gotta Go Home" by the band Boney M., released by the Carrere label. The visible side shows a color photograph of the four band members, posing in front of a white fence against a blue sky. The clothing, very typical of the late 1970s, combines wide trousers and brightly colored or white shirts, in a disco spirit emblematic of the period.

The title "El Lute" is displayed in large red letters on the upper half of the sleeve, while "Gotta Go Home" appears in yellow on a sky-blue background. The band's name "Boney M." is printed in purple and white, with the Hansa label logo visible on the right. In the bottom right corner, "CARRERE" is also featured in red letters, indicating the French distributor of this pressing.

The sleeve shows several visible signs of wear: blunted corners, marked creases, and a grayed area in the upper right corner, probably due to handling or prolonged storage. There are also handwritten inscriptions in ink on the lower right part ("Jean-Michel, Séduan, 02.07.1985, Succa Kaol"), as well as blue scribbling in the upper left corner. These marks confirm that it is an original vintage copy, having lived and circulated since its initial release.

The graphic style and photography fully correspond to the standards of late seventies pop/disco record sleeves, with a bright, festive, and retro aesthetic. This 45 rpm vinyl is therefore both a musical medium and a decorative vintage object.

The condition of the sleeve, although marked by time, retains full readability of the main information and visuals. The upper left edge is slightly warped, but the overall presentation remains coherent and stable.

Condition

Did you know? Boney M.'s song "El Lute" is inspired by the true story of Eleuterio Sánchez, a famous Spanish escapee nicknamed "El Lute," who became a symbol of freedom in 1970s Spain. This single is one of the band's last major hits before the end of their disco period.
