Description

This 45 RPM vinyl highlights the single "The Plastic Age" by the band Buggles, an emblematic track from the 80s pop and synth-pop scene. The sleeve visible in the photo features a striking graphic design, typical of the period, with a stylized portrait in vibrant colors (yellow, blue, green, red) on a white background with thin horizontal lines. The main inscriptions are clearly legible: "BUGGLES" in red at the top, "THE PLASTIC AGE" in blue below, and the mention "ISLAND" at the bottom left, accompanied by the Island Records label logo.

The visible side of the sleeve shows an illustration of a man wearing round yellow glasses and a yellow shirt with shoulder pads, with a graphic style evoking the new wave aesthetic of the era. The contrasting colors and the layering effect of lines give a retro and dynamic look to the whole. No major defects are visible on this side, but there is a slight indentation on the upper right corner of the sleeve.

The Island Records logo, located at the bottom left, confirms the original release of the single. The visual and lettering are clear, without apparent stains or severe signs of wear on the visible side. This type of graphic presentation was common for pop and electronic productions of the early 80s.

The disc is not visible in the photo; only the front sleeve is presented. It is therefore not possible to describe the condition of the vinyl itself, nor the center label. The sleeve appears to maintain good overall condition despite the slight fold in the corner.

Condition

Used item sold as is. Front sleeve in good apparent condition, with a small mark on the upper right corner. The back cover and vinyl are not visible in the photo.

Did you know? The band Buggles became famous with "Video Killed the Radio Star" in 1979, but "The Plastic Age," released in 1980, also left its mark on the new wave and synth-pop scene. Island Records, the label of this single, was founded in 1959 and supported many innovative artists in British pop.
