Detailed description

This 45 rpm vinyl record honors Louis Armstrong, an emblematic jazz figure, with a color photographic cover. On the front, the cover features a close-up portrait of Louis Armstrong performing, trumpet to his mouth. The title "LOUIS ARMSTRONG" stands out in blue letters on a dark blue background, on the upper part of the jacket. The upper left corner mentions the reference "VI 282" and the right corner "offered by ANTAR", characteristic elements of some French promotional editions from the 60s-70s.

The lower part of the cover shows the visible tracklist: "FRANKIE AND JHONNY", "DROP THAT SACK", "I AIN'T GONNA GIVE NOBODY NONE OF MY JELLY-ROLL", and "JELLY-ROLL BLUES", printed in white letters. The "Vroclin" logo appears at the bottom right, confirming the record's publisher. The jacket seems to have a glossy finish, typical of laminated or glossy covers from that period.

The visual is dominated by petrol blue, brown, and orange tones, giving the whole a retro style true to the graphic aesthetic of 60s jazz vinyls. No major defects are visible on the front: no stains, marked creases, or noticeable color loss in the photographed area. The corners are slightly blunted, indicating previous use but without significant alteration to the image or text.

The presentation only shows the front of the cover, placed on an old wooden piece of furniture, with a bookshelf in the background, which highlights the vintage and decorative nature of the item. No details of the record itself or the back are visible in this photo.

The cover shows no handwritten signature or annotation. The entire iconography and print quality are characteristic of a period pressing, intended for promotional distribution or specialized retail sale.

Condition

Used item, sold as-is. Front of the cover in good visual condition, with slight handling marks on the edges. Record not tested, vinyl condition not visible in the photo.

Did you know? Louis Armstrong, nicknamed "Satchmo", was one of the pioneers of modern jazz and played a key role in spreading jazz internationally from the 1930s. French pressings offered by ANTAR were often distributed during oil promotional campaigns in the 60s, making these particular editions sought after for their historical context and rarity.
