Description

This 45 rpm vinyl record features Mireille Mathieu, an iconic figure in French song, with the title "Mayerling" clearly indicated at the top of the sleeve. The cover displays a color portrait of the artist, wearing a large pink hat adorned with a blue ribbon, against a pastel pink background, giving the whole a delicately retro style. The typography of the title "MAYERLING" and the graphic composition evoke record design from the late 60s or early 70s, without being able to state it with certainty but with many converging clues.

The name "Mireille Mathieu" appears distinctly on either side of the portrait, while the "BARCLAY" signature is visible at the bottom right, confirming its release under this historic label. The reference number "71.203" is located at the top left, typical of pressings from this period. The name of the graphic designer or illustrator "Vanni Tealdi" is also distinguishable at the bottom left, adding an artistic touch to the visual presentation.

The sleeve, in the classic 45 rpm format, shows slightly blunted corners and a surface marked by visible signs of wear, including scuffs and some marks, indicating a used item that has stood the test of time. The colors, although patinated, remain harmonious and Mireille Mathieu's photo is clear and expressive.

The back and the record are not visible in this image, so the examination focuses exclusively on the front of the sleeve. No details on the exact musical content of the record or the condition of the vinyl can be provided based on the photo alone.

Condition

Used item sold as is, with signs of wear on the sleeve (see photo). The record is not visible in the image.

Did you know? Mireille Mathieu began her recording career in the 1960s and recorded many successful titles under the Barclay label, one of the biggest names in the French music industry, founded in 1953 by Eddie Barclay. Sleeves illustrated by renowned artists, like Vanni Tealdi here, were common at that time to showcase popular singers.
