Description

This 45 rpm vinyl record features the famous cover of the "Y.M.C.A" single by the group Village People, released under the Barclay label. The visible side shows an iconic colorful photograph in the 70s disco style: the band members, dressed in their iconic costumes (biker, policeman, cowboy, etc.), pose on a construction vehicle and a motorcycle, in a desert setting. The inscription "VILLAGE PEOPLE Y.M.C.A" appears at the top with retro typography, typical of the era. The Barclay logo is clearly visible at the bottom left of the cover.

The cover shows clear and visible signs of wear: marked creases, blunt corners, scratches, and some white scuff marks or wear on the cardboard, particularly on the bottom left corner and on the right side. There is also a handwritten inscription on the upper left part, probably a name or a dedication, but it is difficult to read.

The cover photograph highlights the disco and festive aesthetic of the group, with a dynamic staging and dominant warm colors (ochre, yellow, sky blue). The costumes and accessories worn by the members reinforce Village People's strong visual identity, immediately recognizable by seventies music lovers.

This 45 rpm record is presented in a cardboard illustrated sleeve typical of Barclay productions from this period. No information on the condition of the record itself is visible in this image, as only the front side of the cover is shown.

This vinyl is a vintage musical object, sought after for its retro character and its connection to the golden age of disco. It is an emblematic physical medium of musical dissemination from the late 70s.
