Charles Aznavour Mr. Carnaval 45 RPM Vinyl Record Barclay Vintage Rare
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This 45 rpm vinyl record features an illustrated sleeve of singer Charles Aznavour performing, microphone in hand against a black background. The inscriptions at the top mention "CHARLES AZNAVOUR" in a contrasting red and white typography, as well as the song titles included: "LA BOHEME", "AIME-MOI", "QUELQUE CHOSE OU QUELQU’UN", and "ÇA VIENT SANS QU’ON Y PENSE". The visual also highlights the show from which the tracks are taken, "MONSIEUR CARNAVAL", an operetta from the Théâtre du Châtelet, with the name displayed in large, retro-effect red letters.
On the lower part, the Barclay label logo is visible, confirming the original publisher. The reference number "70862 M" appears on the upper left edge of the sleeve. The whole offers a glossy appearance, typical of laminated vinyl sleeves from the second half of the 20th century.
The visible side of the sleeve shows some handling marks, including a dark mark on the right area. No other major defects are visible; the corners appear generally clean, and the print remains clearly legible across the entire surface. No back, disc, or condition of the vinyl itself is visible in this photo.
The graphic design, typography, and mention of the Théâtre du Châtelet clearly place this object in a 1960s aesthetic, consistent with the period of activity of the "Monsieur Carnaval" show and the Barclay label for Aznavour.
This 45 rpm vinyl is a representative piece of French musical production, ideal for collectors of vintage records, French chanson, and Charles Aznavour memorabilia.
Condition
Used item sold as is, untested. The sleeve shows some visible signs of wear (notably a dark mark), with no apparent tears on the front. As the disc is not visible, no comment can be made on its condition or playability.
Did you know? The operetta "Monsieur Carnaval" premiered in 1965 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, starring Charles Aznavour. This show marked the collaboration between Aznavour and composer Francis Lai, and several titles from this record became iconic in the singer's repertoire.
