Description

This antique voltmeter is an electrical measurement device designed to display voltage in volts. Its round shape, typical of mid-20th century measuring instruments, features a needle dial under glass, framed by a metallic-looking rim. The visible face clearly displays the inscription "VOLTS" as well as two measurement ranges: R6V (175 ohms) and R120V (3500 ohms), printed in black and red to differentiate the usage ranges. The graduated scale ranges from 0 to 120 volts, with legible intermediate markings.

The white dial contrasts with the central black needle, making it easy to read. The device is equipped with two wires visible in the photo, one of which is sheathed in a braided red and yellow patterned sleeve, characteristic of the 1940s-1960s, and the other in a more classic brown wire. The ends of the wires are exposed, showing a clean cut, and a metal spring is visible on one of the conductors.

The casing shows a uniform patina, with some traces of oxidation and signs of wear, typical of an instrument used in an industrial or laboratory setting. An upper metal ring allows for the suspension or attachment of the device to a technical panel. At the bottom, a pointed contact extends the structure, probably for connection or mounting.

The glass appears to be original, with no major visible chips, and the dial shows no apparent cracks. The inscription of values and units is clear. No manufacturer's mark is legible on the visible face, the device being "unmarked" or generic, as is often the case for this type of old equipment.

This vintage voltmeter may be of interest for industrial decoration, use in retro electrical panel reconstructions, or as a study piece for antique technology enthusiasts. It stands out for its utilitarian style and authentic finish.

Used item, sold as is. Presence of signs of use, patina, light oxidation on the casing, cut wires. The needle and dial are in good visual condition, but the device is not tested and its functionality is not guaranteed.

The presence of a double scale (6V/120V) allowed different voltages to be measured with the same device, by adapting the internal resistance with a switch or an external connection.
