Description

This is an authentic old financial document, a bearer share issued by "Entreprises Chemin et Industrielle Foncière Routière". This security, with a value of 5,000 francs, is distinguished by its classic rectangular format and its folded presentation, showing the main certificate on one side and a sheet of detachable numbered coupons on the other. The document features a printed frame of brown-grey geometric patterns, with two stylized technical illustrations in the lower corners (construction machinery and bridge), typical of early 20th-century industrial imagery.

The central text, black ink on a beige background, specifies the full company name, capital, date of incorporation (June 28, 1902), registered office in Paris, and the mention "Action de 5,000 francs au porteur entièrement libérée" (fully paid-up bearer share of 5,000 francs). A large circular red stamp adorns the central part, overprinted with the individual share number (0045183), accompanied by period handwritten signatures. The overall condition shows careful preservation, with visible folds due to storage, no apparent tears on the presented side.

On the right side, a series of detachable coupons remains attached to the main document. Each coupon bears the mention "Action au porteur de 5,000 francs" (bearer share of 5,000 francs) and a number, with round red stamps and maturity dates. The typography, watermarks, and general aesthetic clearly evoke the 1920s, a period during which this type of security was commonly issued by French public limited companies. No details are visible on the reverse side.

The background of the document features a fine mesh, typical of the security papers used for financial securities of the era, reinforcing the authenticity of the piece. The borders are decorated with geometric patterns and illustrated insets, highlighting the care taken in printing. The layout, sepia color, and official stamps attest to its historical and administrative function.

Condition

Used item in good overall condition for its age, sold as is. Visible storage creases, slightly rounded corners. No notable missing parts or tears on the visible side. Inscriptions and illustrations remain legible and well-preserved.

Did you know? Bearer shares, like this one, were anonymous financial securities allowing their holder to claim rights in the company without nominative registration. This mode of issuance, common in France in the early 20th century, was gradually abandoned for reasons of transparency and fraud prevention.
