Bearer share COGEMO COMIMO 1920s Casablanca old financial document
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Visual Description
This photographed document is a bearer share issued by the Compagnie Minière du Mohrieb (COGEMO COMIMO), a company based in Casablanca. The visible side features an ornamental blue frame with geometric patterns, typical of financial documents from the early 20th century. The center of the document displays several printed inscriptions, including the company name, the share value ("Action de cent francs au porteur"), and the issue number (N° 3091).
On the right side of the document, a series of detachable coupons are vertically aligned, each bearing the inscription "Cie Minière du Mohrieb" and share number 3091, with a large circular red stamp affixed to each coupon. The graphic style, fonts, and overall appearance are characteristic of the 1920s, consistent with the era mentioned in the keywords.
The printing is in blue and red on light paper, with a fine background halftone and security patterns typical of old securities. The inscription "entièrement libérée" (fully paid) is clearly visible, indicating that the share has been fully paid. The main section also includes two handwritten signatures, likely those of the company's directors, as well as an official stamp.
This type of document exhibits beautiful graphic symmetry and a very decorative retro appearance, enhanced by the sequence of original coupons still attached. The paper appears to be in good overall condition, with no major tears or stains visible in the photo. The whole is highlighted by a dark wooden support, which is not included in the sale.
The main legible inscriptions are: - "COGEMO COMIMO" - "COMPAGNIE MINIERE DU MOHRIEB" - "Action de cent francs au porteur" - "Casablanca" - Share number: 3091
Condition
Used document sold as is. Good apparent condition for a document of this era, with good preservation of colors and patterns. Some signs of use or age may be present, visible on the edges and coupons.
Did you know? Bearer shares like this one were common in the early 20th century. They allowed their holder to exercise the rights associated with the share without a name mention, which facilitated their transfer. These historical documents bear witness to the industrial and financial development of Morocco under the French protectorate.
