Description
An old financial document, this is a bearer share issued by the public limited company "Pera Palace Hôtel de Constantinople". The share, dated July 10, 1922, features a light blue to dark blue print on paper, with a wide ornamental border illustrated with geometric and floral motifs typical of the early 20th century. The main title "PERA PALACE HOTEL DE CONSTANTINOPLE" is highlighted at the top of the page, accompanied by the monogram "PPHC" and the distinctive red stamp of the company.
The document is divided into two main areas: the upper part, which constitutes the one hundred franc bearer share certificate, and the lower part, composed of numerous numbered detachable coupons, each bearing a payment mention and the hotel's red ink stamp. The whole is printed on paper with a slightly yellowed appearance, indicative of its age, with a visible texture and original straight edges.
The main inscriptions are perfectly legible, notably the mention "Société Anonyme au capital de 7,500,000 francs", the registered office in Paris (Rue Lafayette 126), and the handwritten signature of a director. The visible share number is 071010, and the document is dated and located in Paris. The coupons all bear the same mention "PERA PALACE HOTEL DE CONSTANTINOPLE - Share N° 071010", followed by their respective coupon number.
There is a high-quality print, typical of French stock market documents of the 1920s, with the use of blue and red ink. The motifs and typography confirm the early 20th-century origin, in a refined and elegant administrative style. No major defects are visible on the presented side, apart from a slight curvature of the paper due to storage.
This type of bearer share was common for hotel and real estate investments during the interwar period. The graphics and presentation are characteristic of documents from the 1920-1930 period, with an aesthetic that is both sober and elegant, suitable for prestigious financial securities.
Condition
Used item, sold as is. The share has an authentic patina, some light age-related marks, but no tears or major folds are visible on the photographed side.
