Description
This document is a bearer share certificate issued by the Société Cotonnière de Saïgon, visible on the front. The share is valued at two hundred and fifty francs, as indicated in the center of the document. The design features an ornamental frame typical of early 20th-century financial documents, with floral motifs and classical symmetry. The predominant color is light beige with brown printing, enhanced by numerous red circular stamps bearing the initials "SS".
The upper part contains the full name of the company, "Société Cotonnière de Saïgon", as well as the mention "Siège social à Paris" (Head office in Paris). Several handwritten signatures and a blue ink annotation are visible, adding an authentic and historical character to the whole. The inscription "Action au porteur n° 26333" (Bearer share no. 26333) is clearly legible, reinforcing the original aspect of the financial security.
In the lower part, a series of detachable coupons are present, each bearing a distinct number as well as the company's red stamp. These coupons are aligned in several rows and are an emblematic feature of old share certificates, intended to be detached when dividends are paid. The mentions "Société Cotonnière de Saïgon" and "Action n° 26333" are repeated on each coupon, accompanied by a printed cartouche and the stamp.
The paper shows marked creases and some signs of wear, particularly on the edges, which is typical for documents of this era. No elements from the reverse or other sides are visible in this image. The overall impression clearly evokes the 1920s, both in terms of graphic style, typography, and presentation of information.
