Description

This document, visible in the photo, is an old bearer share certificate issued by Société du Domaine de Karmoudah. The presented side reveals vintage ivory-colored paper, framed by a broad decorative geometric brick-red motif typical of the 1920s. The title "Action de 34.000 Francs au porteur entièrement libérée" (Share Certificate for 34,000 Francs, fully paid-up bearer share) is in red capital letters in the center, accompanied by the individual number "003809" printed in a separate cartouche. The document is adorned with a round blue stamp bearing the monogram "DK", a handwritten signature, and administrative details printed at the bottom of the page.

On the right side, a series of coupons is clearly visible, each bearing the number of the main share, as well as the company's name and the mention "Action de 34.000 Francs". Several of these coupons have a blue stamp, proof of authenticity and partial cancellation, as was the practice for financial securities of that era. The paper has a finely woven texture, typical of old banking documents, and no tears are visible on the exposed area.

The header displays "Société du Domaine de Karmoudah" in red letters, along with details of the registered office in Randon (Lozère department) and a reference to the notary's office that registered the issue. The entire document is framed by a symmetrical decorative frieze, enhancing its institutional and vintage appearance. The graphic style, typographic printing, and face value in francs clearly place this financial security in the 1920s, a period marked by the rise of colonial companies and the widespread use of bearer securities.

The presentation on a wooden background highlights the contrast between the vintage paper and the furniture, without any annotations or signatures altering the readability of the main text. The overall condition of the document, on the visible side, appears to be very well preserved for a financial security of this period, with clear printing and well-preserved colors.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The document shows signs of age consistent with its age, but the visible side appears clean and without apparent structural defects.

Did you know? Bearer shares, like this one, allowed their holder to remain anonymous, unlike registered shares. Very common in France until the 1930s, they were often accompanied by detachable coupons used to collect annual or semi-annual dividends.
