Description

Large rectangular enameled sign, made of sheet metal with contrasting polychrome decoration. The composition combines a wide blue upper band bearing the inscription PRIMAGAZ in white capital letters, with a very legible central motif: a black gas bottle silhouette on a red background, enclosed within a rounded white cartouche.

The sign has mounting holes at the corners and edges, characteristic of signs intended for wall display. Small EAS marking visible in the lower right. The whole offers an immediate decorative presence, with a sober, effective advertising aesthetic typical of 20th-century professional signage.

Primagaz is part of the history of bottled gas distribution in France. This sign is an example of commercial enameled advertising: a durable medium, designed for outdoor use, valued for its brilliance, legibility, and resistance. Used item, sold as is. The sign retains a good general legibility of its decoration and lettering. Presence of scratches from use, rubbing, pitting, traces of oxidation, and enamel loss, mainly on the edges, corners, mounting areas, and in places on the decoration. The reverse shows significant oxidation, consistent with an old exposed metal support. These marks of use contribute to the authentic character of this old sign.
