Description

An antique commemorative badge, dated 1955, in gilded relief with painted details, celebrating the "Month of German-Soviet Friendship" in the German Democratic Republic (GDR/DDR). The visible side features two stylized full-length figures, one female and one male, in attire evoking the iconography of the period, standing side by side. Above them, a large unfurled white flag occupies the upper part, over which two painted flags are superimposed: one in the colors of East Germany (black, red, yellow), the other red, symbolizing the Soviet Union. A blue circle completes the design, typical of the political aesthetic of the period.

The entire piece is molded in relief, with a golden, metallic-looking background. The applied colors are clear and contrasting: white, blue, red, black, yellow. The lower part of the badge features a blue band bearing the inscription in German "MONAT DER DEUTSCH-SOWJETISCHEN FREUNDSCHAFT 1955", which translates to "Month of German-Soviet Friendship 1955".

The overall shape of the badge is irregular, conforming to the silhouette of the flag and the figures. The surface has a smooth texture with a visible patina effect on the gilding, accentuating its character as an antique object. No fastening mechanism or reverse details are visible in this photograph.

Used item, sold as is. The visible side shows signs of wear, including some scratches on the white surface and a noticeable patina on the gilded parts. The colors remain clearly visible and the inscriptions are perfectly legible. No major chips or apparent missing parts on the displayed side.
