Description

This lot concerns a comic book album titled Lucky Luke – Oklahoma Jim, featuring a rigid hardcover. The dust jacket shows a gradient background from brown to yellow, with a wide, bright yellow band at the top displaying the title "OKLAHOMA JIM" in large purple letters. The name "LUCKY LUKE" appears at the top in black characters, while "Lucky Productions" is at the bottom right of the cover.

The central illustration shows the main character, Lucky Luke, standing in his traditional outfit (black hat, red scarf, white shirt, black trousers, brown boots, belt, and white gloves). He is juggling two revolvers and two sheriff's badges, surrounded by three sitting or crouching Daltons, all recognizable by their blue overalls and comical posture. A cowboy child is also on the left, sitting on the ground, with a white hat on his head.

The signature "Morris" is visible on the left, while "PEARCE & V. LETURGIE" appear to the right of the main character, indicating the scriptwriter and artist. The overall condition of the visible cover is clean, with a uniform shine and no apparent tears or major stains. No snags are visible on the top edge, and the top left corner shows a slight curve without major degradation.

The graphic style is typical of late 20th-century Lucky Luke albums, with bold colors, expressive drawing, and marked black outlines, characteristic of the series. The hardcover and glossy finish are typical of Lucky Productions editions from the 1990s onwards.

Condition

Used album, sold as is. The visible cover is in good condition, with minor signs of wear on the corners, no tears or significant stains observed on the front face.

Did you know? Lucky Luke, created by Morris in 1946, is one of the most famous Franco-Belgian comic series, translated into over 30 languages. The "Oklahoma Jim" album was written by Bob de Groot (under the pseudonym Pearce) with drawings by Jean Léturgie, two authors who helped renew the humor and spirit of the series starting in the 1990s.
