Shale mineral block, extracted from the famous Gorges de Daluis (06), presented here in its natural state. The visible face reveals a raw, unpolished surface, with uniform shades of reddish-brown, typical of the geological formations in this region of the Alpes-Maritimes. The texture is fine, slightly granular, with some natural inclusions and asperities, with no trace of human intervention other than the initial cutting.

The general shape of the block is irregular with sharp edges and visible fractures, characteristic of manual or tool extraction. A handwritten label, affixed to the main face, states: "Shale: Gorges de Daluis (06)", providing clear identification of the geological and geographical origin of the piece.

The dominant color is a deep red, tending towards brown, with some lighter shades in places. This hue is emblematic of the Permian terrains of the Daluis valley, known for their richness in iron oxides. The stone has a matte appearance, with no apparent shine.
