Description

This belt buckle features a robust metal structure with a patinated finish and an embossed decoration typical of the Art Deco style. Its rectangular frame with rounded corners is adorned with stylized floral motifs and symmetrical volutes across its entire visible face. The finely crafted decoration highlights details of flowers and foliage on a striated background, characteristic of the decorative aesthetic from the late 19th century to the Art Deco period.

The buckle is equipped with two parallel prongs, also made of matte-finish metal, inserted into the main structure. The center of the buckle is divided by two cylindrical axes, designed to securely hold the strap or belt. The ensemble displays a harmony of curved lines and geometric patterns, typical of the Art Deco movement, while evoking a floral influence inherited from the previous period.

The visible surface reveals a beautiful uniform patina, accentuating the relief of the decoration and testifying to the object's age. The edges and motifs show slight softening, suggesting past use while retaining very good readability of the ornamental details. No logo, brand, or inscription is visible on the presented face.

The apparent mounting is simple and functional, with a wide central opening and two articulation points for the prongs. This type of buckle was frequently used for thick belts or decorative straps, especially on vintage clothing or accessories.

The color palette ranges from dark brown to bronze, with lighter reflections on the raised areas. The overall impression is that of a decorative and utilitarian accessory, typical of metal productions from the late 19th to early 20th century, in the Art Deco trend.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Shows a uniform patina, some signs of use, and a slight softening of the reliefs, with no apparent structural defects on the visible face.
