Description

Round brooch of Soviet origin, featuring a brilliant gold finish combined with a red enamel surface. On the visible side, the brooch displays two distinct reliefs: in the upper part, a stylized automobile is finely carved, while the lower part highlights an industrial ship, evoking shipbuilding. Between these two motifs, a red band bears the inscription "ГОРЬКИЙ" (Gorky), in Cyrillic capital letters, clearly legible on the front of the piece.

The contour of the brooch is circular, with a slight rim all around, emphasizing the separation between the gilded areas and the central red area. The graphic composition, typical of Soviet design, highlights the importance of the automotive and shipbuilding industries for the city of Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod).
