Description

45 RPM vinyl record presented with its original sleeve, apparently released under the Saphir label. The front of the sleeve features a photographic visual typical of the 1960s: a smiling young woman, dressed in a red top, is placed next to a trumpeter whose instrument occupies the upper right corner of the image. The background consists of a light stone wall, giving the scene a retro and urban atmosphere.

The upper part of the sleeve is marked by a bright yellow band featuring the main titles in red letters: "RETIENS LA NUIT - ALLELUIA". Just below, in black on a grey background, two other titles are listed: "UN CERTAIN TWIST" and "LE CLOWN TWIST". The artist is clearly identified: "Charlie Level et les Carnaval's". The circular yellow logo in the bottom left mentions "DISQUE SAPHIR", indicating the record label.

The sleeve shows light reflections typical of protective plastic or a glossy varnish. No major defects are visible on the front, except for a slight crease or mark on the upper right corner. There is also very slight wear on the edges, consistent with an old record.

The graphic style, color photography, and typography are representative of French musical productions from the early 1960s, a time when twist music was very popular. The 45 RPM format is confirmed by the size of the sleeve and the indicated label standard.

This record includes several titles, including "Retiens la nuit", "Alleluia", "Un certain twist" and "Le clown twist", reflecting a repertoire of French variety music with a dance trend, very popular during this period.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The sleeve shows slight traces of wear consistent with its age, but remains in overall good visual condition on the front shown.

Did you know? The Saphir label was active in the 1960s and released many 45 RPM French variety records, often in the twist, yéyé, or slow style, typical of the era. The 45 RPM format became popular in the late 1950s for its practicality and the quality of single playback.
